3,774,221 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Hungary. 1,773,900 have already received the second dose of the vaccine.
With 1,692 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hungary, the number of total cases now stands at 774,399. Meanwhile, 188 more Hungarians succumbed to the virus yesterday and the number of those who have recovered grew to 497,084. The number of active coronavirus cases now stands at 250,143.
There are currently 5,907 people hospitalized with COVID-19, 702 of whom are on ventilators.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 5,327,413 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.
Now that Hungary has reached the 3.5 million vaccinated milestone, terraces of bars and restaurants may open until 9.30 p.m. and the curfew will start at 11 p.m.
When the number of vaccinated people reaches 4 million, immunity certificate holders will be able to visit theaters, cinemas, gyms, swimming pools, zoos, museums, libraries and sports events. Hotels and the indoor premises of restaurants may also welcome guests who have been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19.
Obligatory, universal mask-wearing remains in place and there must only be one customer per 10 m2 in shops.
Shops may reopen between 5:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Hairdressers and cosmeticians may reopen.
Public areas and parks remain open.
The Hungarian Police will enforce these restrictions by imposing fines and closing up places that violate the special rules.
