During today’s Operational Group press conference, Róbert Kiss, Lieutenant Colonel of the Hungarian Police Force, said Hungarian citizens will be able to enter Hungary from Croatia without compulsory home quarantine from Friday.
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller reported that with the 10 new confirmed cases during the last 24 hours, the number of infections now stands at 4,027. “A 37-year-old man who, according to the information available so far, had no known underlying health issues, has died from the coronavirus,” she said, adding that it is relatively rare, but it happens that young and healthy people can be attacked by the virus and the disease can take hold very quickly.
Müller added that “there are currently 344 coronavirus patients in hospital, twenty of whom are on ventilators”. Regarding the statistics she said that there is no significant change in the data per 100,000 people: the 4,027 positive cases represent 41 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants; while the death rate is five per 100,000 inhabitants.
