Huawei signs Hungarian government MoU for building 5G infrastructure

Huawei will continue to work to support the government’s goal of bringing 100mbps-speed internet to 90 percent of Hungarian households by 2025

Chinese telecommunications company Huawei has signed a Hungarian government memorandum of understanding on working to achieve broadband penetration goals and building up a 5G infrastructure.

The MoU was signed by Innovation and Technology Minister László Palkovics and Huawei Technologies regional chairman James Li in Shanghai on Tuesday.

Hungary’s IT ministry said that Huawei will continue to work to support the government’s goal of bringing 100mbps-speed internet to 90 percent of Hungarian households by 2025.

Palkovics said that as a founding member of Hungary’s 5G Coalition, the company will also add to the country’s 5G infrastructure.

The minister is currently in Shanghai with a delegation led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).
