Hungarian rescue teams continue the search in Turkey

The Hungarian military handed over in aid 50 tents to be delivered by their Turkish logistics partners to a region in need.

Hungary’s Hunor rescue team continues its search for survivors amid tough conditions in Antakya, in south-east Turkey, hit by a devastating earthquake.

The spokesman of the national disaster management authority (OKF) said on Saturday that the team has undertaken the task to conduct a search during the night in the building where search dogs signalled for survivors. Dániel Mukics told MTI, however, that they so far had only been able to recover dead bodies. Meanwhile, the Hungarian military handed over in aid 50 tents to be delivered by their Turkish logistics partners to a region in need. The tents can be fitted to provide emergency shelters to altogether 480 people, the ministry said in a statement. Meanwhile, the rescue team of the Hungarian Baptist Charity returned to Budapest on Sunday morning.
