A scientist based at Semmelweis University is close to discovering new solutions to prevent cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in Hungary today.
Pál Maurovich-Horvat has led a number of research studies reassessing the root causes of the disease. In the course of the past few years, his team has developed various technologies to study plaque build-up, differentiating between malignant and harmful tendencies.
Maurovich-Horvat’s scientific contributions garnered a great deal of applause, and won the Lendület (Development) Competition ran by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
