Although Hungarians criticize the European Union, they envisage their country’s future as part of the community, it has been reported.
According to a survey conducted by Policy Solutions using data from Eurobarometer, published in the daily newspaper Népszabadság, a majority of Hungarians trust the European Parliament.
However, confidence in the European Union has weakened in Hungary over the past five years, the survey shows.
One of the main reasons for this weakened respect for the EU could be down to their lack of judgement when dealing with the migrant crisis.
At the same time, while 70 percent of Europeans believe a shared migration policy is needed, this ratio is just 55 percent in Hungary.
About half of Hungarians support the adoption of the euro, Népszabadság said based on results from the survey.
