The prime minister’s chief security advisor has said that the anti-migration constitutional amendment which would effectively outline the rejection of illegal migration quotas is an important step for the country.
György Bakondi pointed out this would constitute a very powerful authorization that could hardly be “trumped” even by the European Union.
Bakondi added that this is why the government made an attempt to lay this down in the constitution with the support of the opposition. However, not a single opposition member of Parliament voted for the amendment at the time, he said.
He indicated that another important element of this issue is the “Stop Soros” legislative package which was submitted to Parliament before the elections. He said the essence of this package is that activities assisting illegal migration are not humanitarian activities but are in fact activities that “pose a threat to the country’s security”.
Bakondi added that they would like to make these ‘Soros groups’ visible to the Hungarian people so that they have a better understanding of “what they do from the funding they receive and what instructions they follow in return”.
