Katinka Hosszú has won the gold medal for the 200m IM at the European Swimming Championships in Glasgow.
The three-time Olympic champion fought off Italy’s Ilaria Cusinato for her fifth-straight European swimming title.
Hosszú clocked an impressive time of 2:10.17, four seconds off her world record best of 2:06.12. The Hungarian managed to just touch out the Italian, who followed close behind in a time of 2:10.25. Switzerland’s Maria Ugolkova bagged the bronze medal in a time of 2:10.83.
Hungary’s Zsuzsanna Jakobos put in an impressive swim to make it into the final and finished in eighth place with a time of 2:13.37.
