János Lázár, Minister of Construction and Investment, held talks with Goran Vesić, his Serbian counterpart, on Tuesday which he called constructive. In a Facebook video post, Lázár said it was in Hungary’s strategic interest to rebuild the three main border crossing points at Hercegszánto, Kelebia and Röszke. He also said that at the meeting they had discussed bilateral public transport and rail projects. Lázár said he had highlighted the importance of connecting motorways between the two countries and completing the construction of the Budapest-Belgrade rail line. Another railway project connecting Szeged with Subotica (Szabadka) and Subotica with Baja is also highly important, he said.
