Prime Minister Viktor Orbán convened a Defense Council meeting early on Thursday, to discuss escalating conflict in the Ukraine war. At the meeting in his office, PM Orbán said that while a ceasefire and peace talks should be the priority, fighting has flared up in the Ukraine-Russia war during the night. “Our priority continues to be Hungary’s security,” he said. Participants included Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, Cabinet Office Chief Antal Rogán and Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Armed Forces Gábor Böröndi.
