Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Daniel Korioth, managing director of Roberth Bosch, in Parliament on Wednesday.
The prime minister’s press chief said the pair discussed the potential for the company to help Hungary achieve its research, development, and engineering goals.
Bosch is Hungary’s largest employer. The company currently employs more than 15,000 Hungarians at plants in Budapest and other cities.
The firm has so far invested a total 370 billion HUF (1.2 billion EUR) in Hungary and has received 20 billion HUF in subsidies from the Hungarian government.
Following his meeting with the prime minister, Korioth met with Mihály Varga, minister for National Economy, to sign a declaration of intent, under which Bosch will join the government’s supplier development program.
Minister Varga said that the government aimed to help Hungarian small and medium-sized companies meet the requirements of large companies.
