PM Orbán in Brussels to negotiate for Hungary

The prime minister will participate in a European Council meeting in Brussels on Thursday and Friday, with Ukraine, the Middle East, competitiveness, migration and foreign affairs high on the agenda.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will head to Brussels today for the first European Union - Gulf Cooperation Council summit.

Charles Michel, the European Council's president, and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the current president of the GCC, will co-chair the meeting.

The aim is for the EU to forge a closer partnership with the GCC and its member states, seen as "geostrategic partners" amid the current geopolitical upheavals.
