During an official visit to Baku in Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said the next step in advancing Hungarian-Azeri relations is boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.
After meeting Azeri President Ilham Aliyev in the presidential palace, PM Orbán said Hungary has already launched investment projects in Azerbaijan, adding that the opportunities for further bilateral cooperation looked “very promising”.
The Prime Minister added that it was always an honor for Hungarians to visit Baku, expressing his appreciation for the Azeri people’s positive attitude towards Hungarians. PM Orbán and Aliyev also discussed current European affairs.
PM Orbán is in Baku for a meeting of the Turkic Council held today. The Turkic Council’s founding members are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Hungary has had observer status in the organization since 2018.
