President János Áder has nominated incumbent chief public prosecutor Péter Polt for a third term. He informed Parliamentary Speaker László Kövér about the nomination via a letter.
Polt was elected chief public prosecutor for a second, nine-year term on December 6th, 2010. He served his first term between 2000 and 2006.
Gergely Gulyás, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, said the government welcomed President Áder’s decision to re-nominate Polt.
