Speaking to students and teachers at an event of the National Academy of Scientist Education, President Tamás Sulyok said Hungary punches above its weight when it comes to contributing to humanity's scientific heritage.
Addressing the Talent Day, in Szeged on Monday, organized by the academy's National Biomedical Foundation, President Sulyok said Hungary, home to many Nobel laureates, welcomed foreign scientists. "Hungarian scientists have opened new eras in technology, medicine and theory," he said.
The president said talented youth attending the meeting would hopefully become renowned scientists and researchers, and they deserved support through workshops and events such as Talent Day.
The president said that the Nobel laureates present at the event "opened new dimensions and approaches and cleared new paths for the world."
He said he hoped young scientists would "grasp this opportunity and start [their] great journey..."
