Zoltán Kovács, State Secretary for International Communications, has said the responsibility lies with European Union institutions and the German presidency to come up with new proposals to resolve the standoff concerning the EU’s next seven-year budget and the post-corona recovery fund.
“Poland and Hungary did not change their positions for the past four months,” Kovács told the BBC World Service program Business Daily in connection with a veto announced by Hungary and Poland as a result of the EU’s rule of law conditions linked to the payment of EU funds.
