Hungary's responses to Europe's demographic challenges were addressed at a podium discussion at the Hungarian embassy in Washington, DC on Tuesday.
Szabolcs Takács, Hungary's ambassador to the US, told MTI that the event held as part of Hungary's presidency of the Council of the European Union had served as a good opportunity for Hungary to present its ideas to an American audience to address demographic issues and family policy.
He said there were several American politicians who followed Hungarian family policy closely, noting Republican senator and vice presidential candidate JD Vance's praise for Hungary's family policies.
In addition to Takács, the podium discussion included Kristen Ziccarelli, director of the America First Policy Institute, Roger Severino, vice president for domestic policy at the Heritage Foundation, and Matthew Boyse, senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, and was moderated by Jan Jekielek, senior editor at The Epoch Times. The event was also attended by several EU diplomats.
