The Tungsram group and the Zoltán Bay Research Center will launch a set of new R+D projects to encouarage innovation and the development of new technologies.

The cooperation comes in response to the growing popularity of already existing R&D projects co-ordinated by smaller, mid-weight companies and internationally-established firms.

"If we devote the research projects co-organized with the Zoltán Bay Research Center and others to the newest, up and coming and most prosperous fields, the Hungarian agricultural industry will soon become one of the world’s five most innovative," said Jörg Bauer.

Currently, the two firms are aiming to reform the in-door food production industry, working with the latest greenhouse technologies to reduce water and natural light usage in the production of vegetables, foods and edible goods. Other plans concern the development of eco-friendly pest control methods, the use of thermal water and biotechnology.
