Two protesters sentenced to public work for paint bombing Presidential Palace

Márton Gulyás and Gergő Varga sentenced to public work for their questionable tactics during peaceful protest

Two protesters have been sentenced to public work for paint bombing Hungary's Presidential Palace during peaceful protests in Budapest.

Márton Gulyás and Gergő Varga were sentenced after being arrested for throwing paint at the president's official residence.

Gulyás admitted that he agreed with prosecutors that his actions were wrong. “I agree with the prosecutors that it is already a bad situation when citizens are forced to, say, throw bottles of paint as a way of expressing their political opinion," he said.

Critics noted that Gulyás is notorious for trying to promote his own image and failing Youtube show, arranging outrageous, public stunts to attract press attention.
