According to the survey, 80 percent of the participants would refrain from voting for either politicians, and only 20 percent expressed support for one or the other. What’s more, 42 percent would urge the parties to nominate a new candidate.
Weber obtained 11 percent of the votes, faring just slightly higher than Timmermans, who earned 9 percent. The parties supporting the spitzenkandidaten enjoy 32 percent of the voters’ support.
The candidates fared particularly badly amongst Hungarian voters. 7 percent would choose Timmermans, while 9 percent would elect Weber. 48 percent would demand a new candidate to step forward.
