Hungarian-born geopolitical forecaster George Friedman has given a detailed breakdown of the relationship between Hungary, the prime minister and George Soros.
Friedman tells Hungarian website Mandiner that national sovereignty is always the most important issue, and George Soros can be trouble in this aspect but still less than the European Union.
He points out that Soros wants eastern Europe to decide their future as Soros wants but misunderstands the bloc a great deal.
The analyst also details the importance of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and how Soros has come up against a far superior opponent.
“Orbán is not a henchman but a pioneer,” Friedman says. “Soros won’t get rid of Orbán” and it’s also unlikely that Hungarians will vote the prime minister out of office, he added.
Friedman added that judging by Hungary’s history, it doesn’t want immigration. The people don’t want it, and it’s unlikely to change
The analyst also predicts a Fidesz triumph in the April 8th election and said even if there’d be a change in government, “it is impossible to shove migration down the thoat of the Hungarian people.”
According to Friedman, Soros has a “certain ideology” and lots of money that he spends on achieving his goals, “but his chance to get rid of Orbán is zero,” he added.
