The world is closer to a world war than ever in the past 70 years, PM Orbán said. "Everyone pretends not to see that the emperor has no clothes."
The foreign minister said that no matter where Hungarians went in the world, they were received with "love and concern".
"To be Hungarian means to fight; this is the message and the demand of the heroes of fifty-six," said the prime minister.
On the 68th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán honored the heroes of 1956 while drawing sharp parallels between Hungary's past struggles against Soviet oppression and current pressures from the European Union.

The defense minister said the heroes of 1956 had fought for national sovereignty, and Hungarians today were vigilant about any foreign intervention that violated "our national sovereignty".
The concert was held in Veszprem to mark the hundredth anniversary of Árpád Brusznyai’s birth.
The prime minister said 1956 had been the last chance for a European Hungary “to tear itself away from the world of Bolshevik socialism” which had banished “European culture, Christian civilisation and the right of nations to exist”.
