FINA and LEN have rejected the resignation of Hungarian media entrepreneur Tamás Gyárfás from their boards until a court ruling surrounding his murder charge has been made.
Federations will be able to submit their official application by June 17th, and the FINA Executive Board will decide on the site on July 11th

Hungary secured three silver and one bronze medal in the championships. FINA revealed that one bronze medal had to be given back because rules say that only one person from each country can stand on the podium
The newly-constructed Duna Arena will play host to the event between May 18th and 20th and people are expected to attend from all over the country and from abroad

FINA chief Julio Maglione says that Budapest and Balatonfüred hosted “the best world aquatics championships of all time”
According to Federation President Julio Maglione, the 2017 FINA Aquatics World Championships held in Budapest were “the best world championship in the history of FINA.” It’s not just about the shiny medals our athletes won but also the international recognition that FINA brought to Hungary.
Julio Maglione congratulated Hungary on the success of the event, which has been the biggest international sporting event hosted by the nation, at the closing ceremony on Sunday
