An international conference open to the press was held on Sept. 16-17 at CEU’s Budapest campus which was attended by prominent representatives from liberal academia and political life.
"There is no unity of values and therefore no political unity either,” PM Orbán said.
At the last European Council meeting, the rainbow-flagged prime ministers paraded in a phalanx.
PM Orbán said the current “left-wing campaign against Hungary” was further proof that the left was “the enemy of freedom”.
“It is a fact that we, Central Europeans, are subject to massive discrimination," the prime minister said.
Fidesz has left the European People's Party Group in the European Parliament. It has refused to accept that the rights of Members of the European Parliament – and thus the rights of Hungarian voters – be restricted by an amendment of the Group's statutes.
