Hungary has been granted a derogation from European Union rules for two tax measures until the end of 2024.
“It has become clear over the past decade that raising taxes is a dead-end-street,” Minister Szijjártó said.
The country’s sectoral tax was deemed lawful, while the sanctions regime in connection with Hungary’s advertising tax was found to be incompatible with EU law.
