László Lehel, the organization’s president, said on Monday that around half of the aid has been contributed by the Hungarian government.
Hungary will finance the shipping of 10,000 tons of grain worth 3.5 million US dollars from Ukraine to Africa as part of its efforts to resolve the global food crisis.
Levente Magyar said that on top of aid, Hungary has rebuilt and renovated a dozen institutions in Ukraine.
Levente Magyar said help is being sent to wherever Hungary’s Ukrainian partners need it.
"Hungary is ready to give financial assistance to Ukraine, on a bilateral basis. No veto, no blackmailing,” PM Orbán said.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, emphasized that the Hungarian government merely opposed taking out another joint EU loan.
Hungary’s refusal to provide financial assistance in the form of long-term loans “is not a question of tactics, but a matter of principle”.
