Serbia’s Hungarian minority has “demonstrated that their mother country can count on them,” the foreign minister said.
Serbia’s Hungarian minority has “demonstrated that their mother country can count on them,” the foreign minister said.
The foreign minister said the Budapest-Belgrade line’s significance would increase in light of the war in Ukraine because “goods from Greek ports could reach Western Europe via that route”.
Dozens of Hungarian companies were now active in Serbia, with their investments totalling HUF 53 billion (EUR 145m).
PM Orbán welcomed the results, saying that Vojvodina Hungarians showed that they “believe in the power of unity and have the strength to shape their own life”.
The prime minister said the fate of Hungarians is influenced by all elections, including the one about to take place in Serbia.
PM Orbán said that experiences gained in other regions would help, and there may be significant economic development resources already available this year.
