Gergely Gulyás, Head of the Prime Minister's Office, said the executive orders signed by US President Donald Trump are in line with the steps taken by the Hungarian government over the past decade.
"What Trump is doing in the United States is what we’ve been doing over here for years," Gulyás told a regular press briefing.
Hungary and the United States now share the same positions on the issues of border protection and immigration and gender policy, Gulyás said.
He said the US government "is no longer a supporter of the Soros organisations and networks" and had suspended their financing.
