State Secretary Róbert Zsigó has confirmed that over 100,000 families have so far applied for a government grant to help renovate their homes. Zsigó said in a Facebook video that the applications were worth nearly a combined HUF 190 billion (EUR 54m), adding that the scheme, launched a year ago, “has been proven”. The government has “built family assistance to ensure that families have a safer, more predictable life” aimed at “providing families with a safe home”, Zsigó said. “Hungary is a family-friendly country and we are working to ensure that it stays so,” he said.
